Position title: Senior/Mid-level Software Engineer
Timeframe: 3 - 6 months
Location: Northern Virginia
Responsibilities: Support design and development of a large-scale information system. Participate in the analysis,
design, development, testing, and documentation of the system.
Requirements: 10 or more years of directly-applicable experience in the following:
-- Production experience on a 3-tier, large-scale system required
-- Senior-level skill set required in:
* Detailed knowledge of both Sun and Microsoft technologies
* At least 8 years working experience with Oracle database (9i a plus)
* Relational database design (logical & physical)
* Volume / capacity planning
* Software development in the following languages (Java, C++, java scripting, PL/SQL, DHTML, ASP, ActiveX control)
* Unix testing
* Production problem resolution
* Full life cycle development
-- Must have hardware knowledge of Unix and NT
-- Personnel management skills is a plus
-- DBA experience is a plus
Education: BS (MS desirable) in CS, Engineering of equivalent courses of study
Position title: Process Control Lead - Software Engineering (SE)
Timeframe: Contract to Permanent
Location: Northern Virginia
Responsibilities: Support the development and modification of large-scale information system products through the analysis,
documentation, maintenance, and verification of SE processes, operating procedures, and work instructions and guidelines.
Provide process guidance to engineers, review and assemble Design and Implementation phase work products and prepare them
for CM control, and track SE action items from end-of-phase reviews. Represent SE at SEPG meetings, on CMMI PAT teams, and
pursuit of Six Sigma initiatives. Administer process training for SE staff.
Requirements: 10 or more years of relevant experience with current, applicable skills/knowledge in large-scale production
application environments with:
-- 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience with software-intensive design, development, integration, test, and/or quality assurance
-- 4 to 6 years of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience in a CMM/CMMI level 3 or above organization
-- Experience with developing materials for milestone reviews, defining and recording action items, and tracking progress
-- Applicable formal training and at least 2 years of experience with engineering-level cost and schedule management
-- Experience with medical systems a plus
-- Direct experience with software engineering economics, estimation, measurement, and related methodologies and tools a plus
-- Detail-oriented, positive attitude, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Education: BS (MS desirable) in CS, Engineering, or Math of equivalent
